The best pixie haircut to match your OVAL face!

If you are oval faced, then count yourself amongst the lucky ones cos you have a whole lot of advantage when it comes to hair styling and makeup as compared to the round, heart or rectangle shaped faces. Am sure you are asking - how would you know if you are oval faced? Its quite easy to determine, just pick up an egg and look at its shape closely. If your facial frame looks similar to it, then you are oval shaped. Your most visible facial feature is your pronounced chin. Some of you might be lucky to have a well structured cheek bone like that of Genevieve Nnaji.

Being oval faced is very advantageous when it comes to hair and makeup because you hardly have to worry about contouring and highlights. Also, pretty much every hairstyle matches your face. No doubt getting a pixie cut is a huge step cos you can either start an industrial revolution like Rihanna or go terribly wrong and end up looking like shaved chicken, lol (I had a very bad haircut once, you don't wanna know about it, trust me). When we say pixie cuts, they are super low, they practically unable to be packed nor pinned. All you do is comb or brush them through. To match you facial frame (oval) with the perfect pixie cut, there two (2) basic ones that works best.

1. Flick the front - this works beautifully with those that are oval face and less pronounced forehead. As you can see from the pictures i compiled above of (Halle Berry, Janet Jackson  and Nicole Ali), you can't help but admit to how incredibly beautiful they all look. The flicked front opens up your face and highlights your gorgeous features which are your brows, forehead, cheek bones and chin.

2. Short bangs - stay off the overly long ones that covers up one of your eye - Rihanna got away with it back then, well, that cos she's Rihanna and thank God she's grown up now and found the best cut for herself as you can see above. The short bangs works great when you have a pronounced forehead cos they cover it up a little yet still accentuating your lovely features. The amazing thing about both pixie cut is that you can have two in one i.e cut/fix the same weave and either decide to flick open the front or brush in down into a short bang.

Styling advice,

1. When getting this cut, I'd suggest you use a slightly curly weave, they are more versatile and easy to maintain.

2. You can go the extra edge by opting for a different color. Am not saying blonde o. Just something different to make the hair really pop.

3. The pixie cut is a great opportunity to channel your inner beauty so wear minimal accessories. You can even stay off earrings for the period at which you carry them. The cut makes you look younger already so don't contrast it with mature blings

4. Do subtle makeup. Choose a vocal point on your face. I particularly love the eyes and lips. Wear soft smoky eyes or false strip lashes. A bright colored lip looks great too.Time to bring out your favorite MAC  rubby woo hey. Hahahahaha!!!!!!!

Remember, when getting this cut for an oval faced, choose either a flicked front as seen on Charlize or a short bang as seen on Mary - as i said, they work best for your facial structure. And below on Rihanna and Tony is a more modern approach where you can sweep the flick/bang to the side.

Even from way back then, Aretha Fracklin and Tony rocked the same pixie cuts as seen below. (Tony has gained weight now, you cant really determine - however from her old pictures, you can see her beautiful face). This hairstyles works really good for heart faced ladies as well.

Also, ensure you get a really good hair stylist. I know how unprofessional some saloon can be. Don't bother too much about the prize. if its good, then it worth it. Please stay off bonding your hair/scalp, it does nothing but damage it.
