Weekend style inspiration - Monalisa Chinda's maxi dress!

Hey guys, i hope you are prepping for the weekend. On this weeks style inspiration, we will be recreating this chic laid back look of the beautiful Monalisa Chinda. She was spotted rocking this ensemble while promoting her new print Magazine at the OGE show earlier in the week. She wore a long black sleeveless maxi dress paired with a satchel handbag and long gold necklace - perfect weekend look. Aside her apparel, what i can't seem to get enough of is her hair - OMG! That dark straight layered weave is totally gorge and sexy.

The fuzz about Beyonce's racy Grammy Performance - My opinion!

I don't think i fully understand what the fuss is about Beyonce's performance at the Grammy’s. Really? Seriously? An entertainer gets on stage and gives a fabulous performance to a song titled ‘drunk in love’ at the ‘Grammys’ with her ‘husband’ by her side and some people dare to call that negative influence?

We all love and adore gorgeous Nigerian Actress Monalisa Chinda for her angelic smile. However, another thing she seem most famous for is her ever changing hair color. Yup, she's pretty much done it all when it comes to hair but i want to know, which do you prefer from her most common choices. Brunette or Blonde? and why?

Which of Rihanna's classy ensemble do you prefer?

Just within a space of 2 days this week, Rihanna wowed us with some amazing classic fashion. First up, she made an appearance at the GMA (Good Morning America Show) wearing a vintage Chanel suit which i absolutely LOVE. I don't know why people are hating on her saying she's not a 'Chanel' chick *eyes rolling*. I know her style isn't  'classic' but rather aggressive, edgy and sexy...regardless, she looked good in this. My only problem though is the hair and necklace. If that hair had been a fringed bob and the necklace a layered pearl piece, this would have been absolute PERFECTION.

Trend Alert - All white traditional wedding ensemble!

Honestly, i don't remember ever seeing it on anybody until songstress, Tiwa Savage wore it during her traditional wedding last year. I remember predicting it was going to become a huge trend and guess what? It is now. Probably Tiwa wasn't the one that invented it but, like it or not, she has given the trend 'a name and face'. We are talking about wearing an all white ensemble for a traditional wedding. Usually at this part of the world (Nigeria), traditional weddings are very classic and overly colorful. Regardless of how you try to 'tushen' things up, you're still going to have to go back to basics cos wearing an all white? I'm really not sure whether or not i'm up for it, one thing that is certain though is -wearing an all white ensemble for a traditional wedding is very unique and beautiful no doubt.

My thoughts on Nigerian enteratainers fashion at the Grammy's 2014!

You guys know i love and will always support our very own but right now, i'm simply lost for word on these 2 sisters. Singers, Seyi Shay and Gina showed up at the 56th annual Grammy looking like a pair of....really, i don't know. Like, how dare you ladies, HOW DARE YOU show up disgracing a whole country like so? Huh? Seyi's dress was way over-sized and ill fitting from every possible angle - i'm not sure she even remembered to do her hair and makeup. Gina on the hand (don't know who she is), was just plain tacky and that ombre weave, #Disaster!

Must see looks from the 56th annual Grammy awards 2014!

It is one of the most anticipated nights in entertainment world wide. The 2014 Grammy's went down last night and as expected, it was a night of glitz and glamor. Surprisingly, neutrals, black, white and a couple of reds were the major fashion highlights of the red carpet as no bright bold colors were worn . See amazing looks: 

First up is queen B. Beyonce wore a custom made sheer lace frock by Michael Costello which for me is somewhat underwhelming and i think her hair and makeup was a bit out of place (didn't go with the dress). She could have done way better.

Fashion Discussion - Plunging necklines + thigh high slits? Your thoughts!

There's got to be something about the Grammy's that makes everyone want to just bare it all. Undoubtedly, there has been some unforgettable fashion, most popular of which is the plunging neckline with thigh high slits. Going down memory lane, i can never forget Jlo and Toni Braxton from the Grammy's 2000 - both left barely nothing to the imagination. Now, fashion forward Rihanna has added yet another dress to her infamous collection. She rocked this sexy gold number during a pre-Grammy Gala in LA.

Impeccable, sophistication and elegance are just a few words to describe the very fabulous Spring 2014 couture collection by Zuhair Murad. The very glamorous collection featured lots of lace and shimmer fabric, diverse necklines, sexy cocktail dresses, flowers, jumpsuits, sequin and intricate embroidery. The major highlight was the tiny Grecian inspired gold waist belt placed strategically on each apparel. There was a lot of pastel hues ofcos (which was a huge trend on the runway). Weekend style inspiration - Recreate Lupita Nyongo's purple ensemble!

Like seriously! Lupita and her stylist are a match made in fashion heaven because how else do you explain a woman that stuns at every single appearance. #DeepSigh! The gorgeous Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o made yet another stylish appearance at the Jimmy Fallon Show last night. She wore a sexy silk purple pant and top by Cushie Et Ochs Spring 2014 and oh boyyy i'm i drooling over the ensemble.

I totally heart this look because it is so sexy, sophisticated, effortless and at the same time very comfy - yeah, its got it all in there. Perfect for a date night if you're the type who isn't so much into dresses like myself. Lol! I decided to put together a look for less but unfortunately again, i couldn't get similar apparels on any Nigerian site. However, i'll do breakdown to help you.

Did Toke Makinwa get her wedding dress inspiration from an Israeli bridal line?

Ermmm, kinda. Am sure it is no loner news that Toke Makinwa's surprise wedding dress by Nigerian Label April by Kunbi was FAB.com. The lovely satin bridal dress featured sexy cut-outs, fabulous embroidery, lace, tiny gold waist belt and ofcos a moderate train. However, you guys aroused my curiosity when i put up a dress inspiration by Israeli bridal line Berta (this was ever before Toke's wedding pic was released). That of Berta was from their 2014 bridal collection and features a long lace sleeve. Obviously, there's a lot of similarities between both dresses which 'by the way' we adore!!! The edgy fashionista was spotted at the polo club recently rocking a lacy frock by Dolce & Gabbana (fall 2013) which had been recently worn by top celebrities like Iman and Jessica Biel. The sheer ruched lace and tulle dress by D & G costs $6,725 (N1.1M) - some big bucks if you ask me. Goodness, i looooove award season! Last night was the 2014 SAG awards and ofcos, here are some must see fashion looks. Up there is the ever gorgeous Lupita Nyong'o - i hate this girl so much. In my opinion, the media mogul looked fabulous in this green dress during the recently held Critics' choice awards however some editors are criticizing her fashion choice to be a little 'too safe' - do you agree? We see it happen every single day in Nigeria - i mean, these days, a celebrity cannot acquire the minutest asset or rather, in most cases, 'liability' without showing them off on social media. I think gone were the days when that used to be the work of the paparazzi's right? Do you really think it is appropiate for our so called 'public figures' to show off items like cash (amongst other things) all in the bid of 'celebrating' how successful they are? What are your thoughts on the recent trend? I'd love to have your opinion on this matter.

Celebs like Rihanna, Alexa Chung, Miroslava Duma and Diane Kruger (shoot) are just a few that have been spotted rocking the very unique piece. I'm envisaging this will soon start flooding the Nigerian market as done with the Lego clutch but before then, what you need to know about these perfume clutches are - they are very exclusive (its been seen on 'only' 4 high class celebrities yet) and they come 'only' in two colors which are black and transparent white.

While i'll keep drooling over this look (fantastic retro glam inspired), reality TV star Kim Kardashian is under fire over flashing way too much skin in it. This is one of Kim's best post baby looks for me and she looks perfect - i don't think its something we're not used to right, so rock on Kim. I do feel the top was a size or 2 smaller than her though. What do you think?
