Cont: Just like every other fashion fix, its about doing the opposite of what you are trying to achieve. For instance, if you want to look slimmer, wear vertical stripes; if you want to look wider, wear horizontal stripes; you want to look curvy, wear an illusion dress and so on. Now back to long torsos. What we are looking to do here is to create a balance between your upper and lower half. Since obviously, your upper half is longer, you want to make it appear shorter thereby making your lower half longer. Get it? I'm sure you do. I know there's a lot of back and forth but just read through patiently.

Hello guys! Hope you all are doing good. So let me share a personal experience with you. Sometime last weekend, i went grocery shopping with my niece and decided to stop by Mr P for a little window shopping. While i and my partner in crime were being the typical baddies that we are, fitting everything nice that we could get our hands on, i noticed a particular lady that was complaining about clothes that were her exact size looking ill fitting. With the frustrations and all, i offered to assist. After picking out a few pieces, i noticed something very important about her body when she wanted to fit and took off her clothes. She had a very long TORSO.

Alright! At this point, i just want to say enough of the running and catching, looking at a flying bird that is obviously not there and reading of magazines that you both know is as boring AF. Lately, i've seen one too many engagement pics that just makes me want to fall out of love *straight face*. Over the weekend, i therefore decided to compile a few tips (in 2 parts) to help you with styling and ideas for engagement pictures. So, for you or your friends forthcoming engagement photo shoot,  keep in mind these ideas and you're sure to have photos that'll be the envy of all!

The simple new trick to style your basic buttoned shirt - Wrap and Tuck!

Over the years, we seen countless ways to style a simple shirt. We have the most classic which is the front knot, the very stylish half tuck and recently, for a few seasons now, we seen the button up! Well, just when we thought the wasn't another way to go with styling a basic button down shirt, street fashion and bloggers are serving us with some serious inspiration. According to fashion site 'popsugar', this might be the ' next big thing'. It is called the 'wrap and tuck' and i'm sure ya'll gonna love it! All you need to do is let go of the buttons, wrap and tuck in your shirt. See picture below

Kitten Heels making a comeback???

Ok! Seriously now, i didn't want to pay attention to this until i saw Lupita and Taylor Swift rock one a couple of days back (see post here). I have been noticing it for a while now with street fashion and celebrities but i wasn't too sure about how it would catch on but apparently, it is. Does the thought of wearing a 2inchs (or less) heels gives you the cringe? We'll, here why you may think of reconsidering.

This is a gotta have for every fashionista in 2015. I absolutely adore this apparel because it chicens/elevates any ensemble in an instant. Works great for every body type regardless of your height and stature. Its very versatile, trans-seasonal and easy to wear. If i could describe Miss Taylor Swift's style in two words, it'll be classic and feminine. I'm yet to find any young adult in Hollywood who does those two words better. No surprise to me she won best dressed female for 2014, she was absolutely phenomenon. As a matter of fact, if there's any fashion role model i would advice young girls to follow, it'll be Taylor Swift. "THIGH GAP"? Bullsh*t!

‎The title of this post sounds stupid right, well thats because what i'm about to talk on actually is. Just incase you haven't heard, there's this ridiculous diet obsession movement on the rise now and it's called the 'Thigh Gap'. As the name implies, the thigh gap is the gap between you inner thighs when you stand up straight with your feet touching each other. Ofcos, some women were actually born with this gap however the disturbing aspect of it is that lately, a lot of girls have turned to extreme dieting and even surgery to achieve it all because it is believed to symbolize the 'ideal feminine shape'. Some argue that it increases attractiveness and is a sign of fragility. As a matter of fact, the wider your thigh gap, the more beautiful you are considered these days.

Trend alert - Culotte shorts! Would you rock?

Just when we had it with skin bearing lace and butt crack revealing shorts, the god of fashion finally decided to return sanity with relaxed Culotte shorts. If your are an edgy fashion lover and looking to experiment with one of the coolest trends this season, Culotte shorts are a must try! They are said to have been designed in the early 80's so as allow women the ease of ridding horses but all thanks to designers like Alexander Wang, Mulberry and Diane Von Furstenberg, the shorts have made its way back to modern fashion and even bagged one of the hottest trends of the season.

Okay, so i'm sure we can all agree on one fact which is - denim is and always will be an all time classic. Seasons in and out, decades past, the wardrobe staple has evolved and we've seen different interpretations by designers and fashion icons. Just a few seasons back, head to toe denim was a huge trend and still is.........guess, what? One of the latest ways of rocking denim is shirts with white pants! Goodness, its been a while since i've done this right? Just bear with me for a little while longer and i'll be fully back. The project am working on presently is really eating into my time. Just a little more........lol!

So now, a lot you might or might not have taken cognizance of the fact that the neckline of your dresses or tops go a long way in determining your accessories particularly your necklaces right? Well, it does and as a matter of fact, in styling, it is highly important to match carefully your chains/necklaces according to the neckline of your apparel.

I really don't know why but i've never owned a velvet outfit before. Even with the huge trend with wrappers last year, i still didn't get myself one......for reason's i can't really place. Nonetheless, velvets are really lovely fabrics which may appear very elegant and flattering when done appropriately - one very important trick to keep in mind when going down its lane though is to 'not' mix them with other fabrics i.e purely velvet skirts, wrapper, dress e.t.c and also tone down makeup/accessories. Going by the infamous words of the latest IT girl in fashion Lupita Nyong'o at the 2014 Oscars  - ''No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid'' right! Well, i kinda wanna rephrase that a bit and state - No matter how bald you are, you can always rock a head band like nobody's business. Lol! We all know Lupita never gets it wrong with fashion but whats more is that she never gets it wrong with hair (very understated). The dark skinned Kenyan beauty has proven beyond reasonable doubt that you don't need weaves to be beautiful and glamorous.
