3 ways to nail your ripped boyfriend denim!

No doubt wearing a boyfriend inspired denim could be a little intimidating particularly when it is ripped due its loose and rugged looking nature. However, one thing you must know is that as comfy as the apparel may be, they are a major statement making piece. Therefore, either you're stealing it from your man's closet or getting a masculine inspired pant, here are a few tips to keep in mind while wearing one as inspired by 3 fashionable diva's - Rihanna, Genevieve Nnaji and Annie Idibia.

1. Elevate With Heels -  Boyfriend pants are loose in design thereby making your lower half full and bulky. You need something to stretch your body and make your legs longer. Personally, i wouldn't advice close toe pumps (except pointy toe) so go for strappy sandals and peep toes. Remember we talked about this on my 'how to look slimmer with clothes' post. See it here.

Fitted Tops - The rule of the thumb in fashion is - never to mix 'tight with tight' or 'loose with loose'. You're wearing a slouchy pant, so, wear tops that are fitted and stylish. The ripped boyfriend denim has already added enough drama to your ensemble so you might either decide to keep your tops simple like the lovely Genevieve Nnaji if you're the conservative fashionista or go for a fierce approach like Rihanna's sequin top and hologram accessories.

Persona - Its all about adding your individual touch. You can clearly see 3 very different interpretations from Rihanna, Genevieve and Annie above. Ofcos when wearing a ripped boyfriend denim, you're going to cut across as fun and edgy so make your personal style come through. This graphic print Tee and statement neck piece is perfect on Annie Idibia.

Take a cue from these celebrity inspirations and you're sure to be a stunner next time you're rocking your ripped boyfriend denim.
