what are your must have essentials for the rainy season? here are my top 9!

Hey friends! How are you? Trust you all are having a good week! Mines' cool, kinda over cool sef, lol! Its no longer doubt that we are fully into the rainy season and as women and ofcos some fashionable brothers, we've got to prep ourselves up. We all love the weather cos its cool and yeah, finally we're taking a break from the scotching sun.....but then again, if not careful, heavy down pour (particularly of recent) may result to damages of some precious items.  So yup, I've put together this post on MUST HAVE ESSENTIALS for the rainy season. Do not forget, what ever you do, never leave home without these items.

1. Shower Caps - Choi! the rain ruined my braids even before taking them off this weekend. Just because i changed my handbag for the first time in months ( FYI, am one of those one bag ladies, you know, Lol!), i forgot to take one along. Usually i carry my shower caps everywhere and i suggest you do too. You don't want those super expensive weaves thinning out now right.

2. Scarfs and Pashmina's - probably one of the most versatile and trans-seasonal pieces. Get yourself a couple of colorful pieces and throw them on your ensemble  You may tie them into a cute bow, wrap them around yourself, any which way you desire - they are really beautiful and amazing!

3. Sweaters and Cardigans - This is one of the best ways to keep yourself warm and look drop dead stylish. I specifically love V-necks (its usually I preferred neck)  but round necks look equally awesome. Whatever pattern you want to pick out, ensure they are made from cotton. They keep you comfy and allows you to breathe.

4. Umbrella - ella, ella, hey, hey, hey *in Rihanna's voice*, Bad girl riri didn't make that record for nothing o, Lol!  They may sound/look really basic but it sure is very important. Go for the portable ones that fits into your handbags and also, spice things up by choosing the ones with very interesting detailing and graphics.

5. Blazers and Jackets - ofcos, the weather maybe chilly but I don't think its up to that point where we get to wear coats and fur as compared to the winter season. To keep things 'normal' and climate friendly, opt for blazers made from full cotton fabrics. Experiment with various colors to brighten up your looks. Also, denims are very hot at the moment so make sure you get yourself a really nice denim jacket. While Blazers are more appropriate for a formal look, denim jacket is a good way to keep thing low key!

6. Patent leather bags and shoes - I wrote on popular jelly's/sandals in the past (which was quite interactive  but really, I think if a N500 jelly would protect my N150k Louboutin pumps.....then I'll say 'Hell yeah'! Opt for patent leather bags and shoes/sandals this wet season so you don't damage your precious leather and suede. Please avoid suede by all means. Personally, am a bags person so yes, I invest a lot in my bags.

I have this lovely one by miu miu which am gonna be carrying all through this wet period. I don't really change my bags so i won't be having problems with that, lol! Check out my post on popular jelly's here or here

7. Water proof makeup - when choosing your make-up this season, ensure you are on the lookout for those that are water proof so you don't end up with raccoon looking eyes when you get caught unawares by the rain. Most make-up these days are water-proof so you shouldn't have a problem in this department but still.......check!

8. Ray Ban - yes peeps, please give them black shades a rest (unless you're D'banj). It doesn't really look nice when you wear dark shades in the  rainy peroid and at nights. - If you must wear frames for one reason or the other, opt for nerdy frames. They are very stylish and more appropriate. If you are an office chick/dude, shhhhhh........no one will ever tell you're faking it

or you're just out and about letting your hair down........they are amazing! Just be sure to choose those that compliment your face okay! Please, i repeat...please, do not wear dark frames - they look really weird when the vapor sets in and stuff. You get right! Lol! RayBan's are my all time favorites.

9. Hand moisturizer/Lotion - I want to believe none of my fashionista's ever go out without this right! Please don't. To keep your hands well moisturized so carry one around everywhere you go. We don't want those annoying looking dryness that comes with the weather now, do we! O'lay and Nivea hand moisturizers/lotions are great and smell awesome.

Am really excited about all these items i've written on, not just because they will be tremendously helpful this season but because they also fit into just one look so you don't have to worry about carrying any 'excess luggage's'

Have a happy season and don't forget to munch on lots vegetables and fruits - take advantage of the rain!
